In this Podcast you can hear me talking about…

Portuguese slang & expressions, Portugal’s culture and history, Portuguese cuisine, regions of Portugal, traditions, habits, important figures, curiosities, conversations with expats who speak Portuguese, conversations with friends…

“About a month ago, I found Silvia’s Listen & Learn Podcast. Since then I’ve been listening to an episode every day on Spotify, going through the text and then watching on Youtube. In a week I’ll be reaching the last recorded episode. Then I’ll start over again while looking forward to new episodes.

So much to learn from Silvia about Portugal and its costumes and traditions, while practicing listening comprehension and learning new words and expressions”.

Why a Podcast?

My personal experience: Whenever I was learning a new language, it always helped me so much to listen to it. So I would listen and listen and listen… Through that, I learned so fast new vocabulary, expressions, slang, sounds, correct pronunciation and somehow, the language would start making sense in my head!

My professional experience: Students who have the great opportunity to listen to their Portuguese friends or co-workers, learn much faster!

I also realised that…

The students who didn’t have contact with the Portuguese, usually had a harder time pronouncing sounds correctly.

Also, they usually struggle with finding good material to listen to in European Portuguese.
